Sorry, aramtch, but I've tested the plugin, and I can't see anything wrong. I'm using the most recent WP version, so maybe you can make sure you're up to date? It could be something to do with a non-admin user trying to upload stuff? I'm not sure... Please let me know if you continue to have problems, though.

Hi Trevor,
However I'm coming across a problem, which I don't think is with the plugin, but I wondered if this sounds like something familiar: Everything is fine, files in the right place and the download links direct me to the files, no problem, but the files downloaded are 0KB in size. I have two separate hosting accounts. On one server everything worked perfectly and on the other the 0KB downloads, but recently the same problem is with the 'good' hosting account too, except for a pdf file which is only 187KB, which downloads correctly. All the other files are large zip files, MP3s or WAVs. I have searched through everything, php.ini for size limits, SQL database (although I don't really know what I'm looking for) and also other stuff like .htaccess. I'm at a loss really and I wanted to try asking here before I open a ticket with my webhost (Bluehost for both my hosting accounts). I would be very grateful for some input on this.

I'm sorry, but I think your host might be the ones to ask. The plugin uses really basic PHP uploading, so I don't know what could be wrong. On the plus side, you can point them at a very small piece of code in case they wonder what's going on in the plugin! |

Hi Trevor, This plugin seems like it's exactly what I need! BUT, after installing and activating, I can't find the "Manage -> Secure Files" area in WordPress. Is this a 2.8.x problem, maybe? Is this something that you might fix? I'm looking for a way that people can access PDF files through a password-protected page, but not by typing in the file URL. Also my client needs to be able to change the page password, so using a .htaccess file isn't a good solution. Your plugin seems like the perfect solution! Thanks much in advance. :) |

I think they just changed the admin interface language. It looks like it's under the "Tools" link now. Look near the bottom of the left-hand sidebar in the admin and you should see it. wp-admin/tools.php?page=secure-files.php |
